Interests and Hobbies

Pub Quiz - I love displaying the ridiculous amount of trivial information that has taken residence in my brain. I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than a few hours with family and friends enjoying good food, good beer, and lots of laughter.

Texas Hold’em Poker - I was bitten by the poker bug years and years ago, and I love to play in local tournaments whenever I get the chance. I wouldn’t call myself a card shark, but I’ve been known to hold my own.

Traveling - I don’t get to travel nearly as much as I’d like, but I love the ocean and try to get to the coast as much as possible. Being from the south (I moved here from Atlanta, GA about 3 years ago) I do miss warm water beaches, but the Oregon coast has a beauty all its own.

Cooking - I had my own personal chef business in Atlanta for two years (“Never Trust a Skinny Chef”) and consider myself a foodie. I love cooking for people, and I love exploring the amazing Portland restaurant scene.

The Loves of My Life

I have four dogs:

Chutney - My 8 year old Black Lab/Flat coated retriever mix. She is as sweet as pie and spoiled absolutely rotten.

Rosie - My 7 year old Black Lab/Something Huge mix. She is a quirky, neurotic mess, but she is always so happy to see you at the end of the day.

Tater - My 4 year old Beagle/Jack Russell/Pit Bull mix. She is FULL of energy, and among her favorite things are licking faces, chewing up books, and playing fetch until my arm is sore.

Ozzie - My 5 year old Standard Rat Terrier Mix. He is kind of antsy, and he makes Tater look mellow.

I also have four cats:

Pumpkin - My 15 year old Orange Tabby boy that I’ve had since he was 8 weeks old. Don’t tell my other pets, but he is the true love of my life. He is king of the castle, and he sleeps in the crook of my arm every night.

Milo - My 11 year old Gray Tabby and White boy. He is the smartest cat I’ve ever met and he can get ANYWHERE....into dressers, closets, shelves, behind the refrigerator. No place is safe from him, especially when there are treats or catnip involved.

Willow - My 9 year old Calico girl. She pretty much rules the roost, both canine and feline. Well, and human too if I’m being honest. She loves to snuggle on HER terms, and she has a strange fascination with repairmen and their toolboxes.

Simon - My 6 year old Brown Tabby and White boy. He is the shyest of all my kitties, but he is quite affectionate. He loves to give head butts, and when he’s really content he tends to drool a bit.

And last but not least, my 3 toed Eastern Box Turtle - Oscar. She is small and kind of misshapen due to some nutritional issues in the food given by her previous owners. She is my special needs turtle. Compared to the other 8 pets, she isn’t the most affectionate, but she is fun to watch and provides endless hours of (safe) entertainment for my cats.
